tile

This is for the altered swap. After a lot of trial and error and vinyl I think I finally figured out how to do this. I have to give a lot of credit to my sister Bridgette for knowing so much about Design Studio and taking the saying and working it for me so all I had to do was cut it, THANKS BRIDGETTE!!!

Hope

This weeks scraps challenge was Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. I really like how this turned out.

Being aware of breast cancer is really important to me. My maternal grandmother had it an had to have a double mastectomy.

I encourage you to go have a breast exam this month, I DID!

afghan

I decided to make afghan's for my two "swap sisters". The solid red one is for Vickie and the red and white one is for Catherine.

I usually crop down my pictures so only my work is in it but the kitten is just so dang cute I had to leave her in there. Her name is Nari (Spanish for fool).

Christmas Tree

FINALLY!!!! I have looked all over the internet for this pattern and the only site I could find it on was a Spanish site. I can't read Spanish but Phil can so I sent the site to him. Well he was having troubles translating so he was going to get one of other Spanish linguists to help him translate. Long story short... I was at Wal-Mart and thought I'd look in the pattern books and found this tree. (McCall's M5778) Needless to say I was ecstatic! I had Kristi help me cut the pattern and I got it finished this morning. I can't wait to do more!! I hope Catherine likes it as much as I do.

tile

This is my first attempt at a tile. I made it for the wild card challenge yesterday. I used Catherine's favorite quote.

I went to Bridgette's blog and just tried to copy what she did. She used a bigger tile (8x8) than I could find (6x6) so my quote looks like a lot on the tile.

"The most beautiful things in life can't be seen or touched, they must be felt with the heart."

snowman poop

This idea was passed along to my by JeanP.
Thanks Jean!!

I hear that you've been naughty,
Listen here's the scoop...
I'm running short on coal this year,
So you'll get Snowman Poop!
Love,
Santa

cocoa packet holder

shaker mini composition book

The challenge was a shaker box. I wanted to do something a bit more creative. I like how it turned out.

Happy Columbus Day

this was done for the scraps challenge red, yellow, brown.

snowman

This card was kind of an experiment but I think it turned out great. I wrapped cardboard in batting, then cut out the vest and hat out of fabric. I glued on buttons for the eyes, nose, and mouth. This is too bulky to mail as a general Christmas card but it sure was fun to make.

post-it note holder

Todays challenge was a post-it note holder. This is my first time making one of these. My daughter loved how it turned out and wants me to make her one. I like it too.

I put a magnet behind it so it can hang on the fridge.

Flowers from Phil

The day before Phil left he brought me home my favorite flower in my favorite color.

Yesterday my sister Sheri called to let me know her package for my Twilight swap had arrived. I had made a bookmark and put it in there for the swap and she had given it to my niece, my nephew said it wasn't fair that I hadn't made him one so I made him and my other nephew book marks today. The butterfly one is for todays challenge. what a coincidence that book mark was the word of the day.

I know I take bad pictures and I really apologize. I just don't know how to take them better. the tail of the butterfly is a light purple and one of the eyes on the skull is glittered in red to look like a ruby.

bag and cards

today's challenge was to embellish a bag or box. I chose to cut out this bag and then make some cards to go inside.

coffee mug

This is for a secret swap.

tags

I bought some new tag stamps. I used stickles to embellish.

note cards 3x3

these 3x3 note cards were kind of an experiment. I had never used paper with a colored core so I used my cuttle bug and the floral corners folders. Then I used sand paper to show the design. I think they turned out great! I hope the person I made them for thinks so too.

Family

Yet another 2 page layout.

Christmas Ornaments

I bought some smaller beads and thread. I like how these turned out. They may need a bit of starch though.

Christmas Ornament

this one I used tissue paper on. I got the idea from a follower of this blog.

letters

I'm doing a couple of secret gift swaps for Christmas so here are the letters of their first names. The white looking ones are actually pink, I just don't know how to take a good picture.
