Ok I figure my kids qualify for this blog since I "made" them. John just graduated from Basic Training. I'm so proud of him!! These are his graduation picture and then the family picture.
I've never done one of these before. I hope I did it right. Bridgette sent me some glimmer mist so I used that for the first time. I got better the more I did.
This is for the altered swap. After a lot of trial and error and vinyl I think I finally figured out how to do this. I have to give a lot of credit to my sister Bridgette for knowing so much about Design Studio and taking the saying and working it for me so all I had to do was cut it, THANKS BRIDGETTE!!!
I decided to make afghan's for my two "swap sisters". The solid red one is for Vickie and the red and white one is for Catherine.
I usually crop down my pictures so only my work is in it but the kitten is just so dang cute I had to leave her in there. Her name is Nari (Spanish for fool).
FINALLY!!!! I have looked all over the internet for this pattern and the only site I could find it on was a Spanish site. I can't read Spanish but Phil can so I sent the site to him. Well he was having troubles translating so he was going to get one of other Spanish linguists to help him translate. Long story short... I was at Wal-Mart and thought I'd look in the pattern books and found this tree. (McCall's M5778) Needless to say I was ecstatic! I had Kristi help me cut the pattern and I got it finished this morning. I can't wait to do more!! I hope Catherine likes it as much as I do.
This is my first attempt at a tile. I made it for the wild card challenge yesterday. I used Catherine's favorite quote.
I went to Bridgette's blog and just tried to copy what she did. She used a bigger tile (8x8) than I could find (6x6) so my quote looks like a lot on the tile.
"The most beautiful things in life can't be seen or touched, they must be felt with the heart."
This card was kind of an experiment but I think it turned out great. I wrapped cardboard in batting, then cut out the vest and hat out of fabric. I glued on buttons for the eyes, nose, and mouth. This is too bulky to mail as a general Christmas card but it sure was fun to make.
Todays challenge was a post-it note holder. This is my first time making one of these. My daughter loved how it turned out and wants me to make her one. I like it too.
I put a magnet behind it so it can hang on the fridge.
a few days ago the challenge was to cut our persons name and embellish it. Everything I tried failed then I remembered she host's a lot of 8x8 layouts so I made her name into a layout.
The day before Phil left he brought me home my favorite flower in my favorite color.
Yesterday my sister Sheri called to let me know her package for my Twilight swap had arrived. I had made a bookmark and put it in there for the swap and she had given it to my niece, my nephew said it wasn't fair that I hadn't made him one so I made him and my other nephew book marks today. The butterfly one is for todays challenge. what a coincidence that book mark was the word of the day.
I know I take bad pictures and I really apologize. I just don't know how to take them better. the tail of the butterfly is a light purple and one of the eyes on the skull is glittered in red to look like a ruby.
